Re: Factory ammo with lead heads
Casting is not for everyone, it and can be done on the cheap. However it can also become very expensive depending on your equipment. If you have something that works for you no need to change. I myself have shot a lot of commercial cast bullets. Casting gives you much more control over size, lube, and alloy of the bullets. Which in turn gives you a much wider range your bullets can be pushed, and the savings of your own cast bullets over what you pay for commercial is much more than most realize. But as I said casting is not for everyone, like reloading it saves you money and gives you more control over your finished round.

Re: Factory ammo with lead heads
Could you tell us what caliber of ammo they/you are looking for?
.22 long rifle or .38 special in all lead is a standard round at Walmart.
I think Dick's sells re-manufactured .40 with lead round nose.
What kind do they need.

Re: Factory ammo with lead heads
The ones you see in Dick's ads were "factory reloads" by Ultramax ( http://www.ultramaxammunition.com/home.html ). You can get them from most major online dealers. For the usual semiauto calibers (.380, 9mm, .40, and .45 auto), that's probably the best, most readily available, way to go.
