I also find it offensive that we taxpayers are being charged yet more to support what we already pay for, because non-residents come across the border and shoot the crap out of the place.

Maybe instead of persecuting PA residents, they ought to eliminate the permit for PA residents, double the range fee for non-residents and patrol the area, checking driver's licenses and assessing fees to anyone who's from NY or NJ instead?

Or... here's a real head-scratcher... maybe stop busting our balls and let us bring our own target stands if they're too incompetent to maintain the range in a timely fashion?

    Just sayin'...

That place was always trashed any time I've been there. It makes the old range at gouldsboro look good. This has been going on in the 7 years I've lived here.

I haven't been up there in about 6 years now and I thought the place was a dump back then but wow they made it even worse. I am glad I don't give any money to Pa Gaming Commission....

*shrugs* Doesn't mean the wind had nothing to do with it this time. Wasn't like that last time I went.

I stopped by on my way up to Honesdale today. Everything is still broken. Someone did use a couple bungee cords to hang a 2x6 on the center section. So at least that is usable.

Not looking for an argument but this is getting silly. I agree, it was the wind. Not the hundreds of bullet holes, not the shot hits, not the fact the backers have been on the verge or falling down for weeks, not the fact that for the 10 years I've been frequenting the range this is a constant problem, it was the wind. You win.

Totally agree. I've done it in the past when "the wind" has struck and destroyed the target stands and I'll continue to do it. Frankly getting a ticket might be the best thing. I'd love the opportunity t plead this in front of a judge. Frankly I'll just keep appealing it until they get sick of me.

I've been there a few times, my in-laws live in the Wallenpaupack area off 507, it was always usable each time I went. It has been a couple years since then though.

more times than not the pistol side is demolished. 50 is ok and the 100 is never in bad shape because the people who tear up the place and shoot the target stands cant shoot that far to save their life anyways.
