    Default PT140

    Anybody own a Taurus PT140?
I had a used one in my hand today (not the PRO), and the trigger felt a little rough.
Is that somewhat normal or was the thing just dirty and dry?
Price was $179 with one mag, but I just couldn't get past the trigger issue.
    Any thoughts?

I don't have the PT140, I have a PT745. The trigger was a little rouh for a few rounds abut now is fine. Not like a smoothed up revolver trigger but for the type and size of gun it is fine. No grittyness, no creep but neither does it have a glass break trigger. Works very well for what it is being used for. $179 seems to be a pretty good price IMO.

It probably needs cleaned. The trigger on my Taurus 24/7 is not gritty.

EDIT:: Where was this used one at? For $179.... hmmmm.... I might need to take a ride.

I have a PT111, the early non-pro model. Not the best trigger in the world, but not what I would call gritty. I'd bet that a cleaning and lube will help. Price seems good. Remember that Tauus has a forever warrentee, for any owner if there should be a problem. Mags are $$$.

I have a Taurus PT140 Millenium (doesnt have Pro on the slide), 3rd gen with the SA/DA trigger. Trigger pull is nice and smooth on mine, bought it new for $340 with two mags and cleaning brush.

    Thanks for everyones input.
The one I looked at is a 1st gen, DAO.
But I have decided against buying it, so if anybody is interested,
    it's at Tanners.

If its a first gen, id recommend nobody buy it. Serious issues with first gen and frames cracking. Second gen was only slightly better, but i read alot of complaints about the pins that hold the frame/grips together cracking and it was still a DAO trigger. Third gen is SA/DA trigger and has no issues that ive been able to find with regards to quality.

Ive posted this before, but its a good reference, shows the diffs between the three generations of millenium.
