Whats the longest someone's waited for there LTCF?
A week ago I was told to come back next Friday [1/1/13]. By my count that's 54 calendar days. I remember someone saying they waited 71 calendar days but I was just curious.

The law is 45 days...not 45 business days.

Re: Whats the longest someone's waited for there LTCF?
I waited almost a month the first time I applied (21 yrs ago). Since then all renewals have been approx 2 weeks.
Did they give a reason for the delay? Yes, PA law says 45 days but if there is a large backlog they can only process the applications as fast as the clerk/deputy operates. If they had any common sense they would explain the delay is due to the overwhelming number of applications.

Re: Whats the longest someone's waited for there LTCF?
I posted this on another thread but here goes:
I walk in at 8:45am Jan. 25th. The guard asks me what I'm there for. I told him to pick up my LTCF. He asks do I have my letter, I say no but it's been 45 days and go up. I sign in on the sheet and wait for 15 minutes. I get called up with a girl. I tell the girl to go ahead of me. The detective or secretary asks for "letters and licenses, please". This is how it goes down:
Me: I don't have my letter but it's been 45 days.
Detective: Give me your license I'll check
10 minutes later:
Dectec: Sorry it's not done
Me: It's been 45 calendar days why is it taking longer?
Detec: It's Business Days
Me: No it's calendar days, Captain Healy & Staff Inspector Levin told us it was and encouraged us to quote them on that.
Detec: [taken aback and made a surprised face] Well...Even it was calendar days you applied Dec. 10th
Me: Dec 10th to today is 47 calendar days by my count.
Detec: We were closed for two weeks so that might have lead to taking so long. Come back in a week with or with your letter and It should be done.
Me: Alright
At this point I didn't really want to argue or more importantly ruin my chances or make any grounds for a denial [In the PPD's eyes atleast]. I was VERY tempted to tell her I called twice during this period and spoke with two different people who said you weren't open to the public but you were still processing applications and to count it towards 45 days.Last edited by RebelRaider5; January 30th, 2013 at 09:48 PM.
