BENSALEM TOWNSHIP 2013 ANONYMOUS GUN BUY BACK PROGRAM

Bensalem Police officials announce a new gun buyback program that will have people handing in their unwanted guns in exchange for cash. The program will pay citizens for the voluntary surrender of firearms – no questions asked - with the goal of reducing gun violence.
In my opinion all this no questions asked bullshit does is promote the stealing of guns by thugs that want to make a quick buck for their drugs.

Anyone know about the legality? That'd be the only issue. Obviously FTF long gun is ok.

To take what CHEMICAL said another step further, with a no questions asked policy you might get some people turning in stolen guns, and if one of us buys it, they're now in possession of a stolen firearm. I can see it now. "No, honest, officer. I got it from some guy at a buyback program". I too think some wonderful firearms might be saved(and gotten cheap) at a buyback, but it's something that should be considered.

    Another good point.

I understand those risks. I figure you can sort of weed out who is there that could be a felon, etc. by looks. I know that isn't fool proof but I'd be willing to be the little old lady isn't selling a stolen gun.

even if you don't buy anything, you could stand by and sell those $10 AK Bayonets and a hose clamp for $40 and make all the Fudd guns "Assault" to get the person turning it in more money.

I see the felon . . . It was profesor Plumb with the candlestick in the library. Lol

Who would you inquire about the federal 4473 form not being used. Is this something you ask the Local DA?

    Exclamation Re: Out-bidding Buybacks

I have already been organizing a group to go to the Bensalem one next week, I wanted to keep it on the down low so the cops don't have a chance to prepare. Please PM me for more details. Please don't show up unless you have a level head and can peacefully deal with police interference as we want this to be a positive event.

One way to help eliminate purchasing a stolen gun would be to require an ID from the "seller" and a bill of sale. I doubt the "seller" would provide this information if the gun was stolen. Again, not fool proof, but you did everything you could short of running a check on the gun before buying it. Is it really any different than buying a gun from a guy in the parking lot at a gun show?

I wish I had some extra coin - I'd come along.
