got a deer with a 91/30
100 yard shot with open sights , almost missed him too(high).dropped in his tracks. whos says a 100 dollar rifle cant hit a barn from the inside ? my tags are now officially filled for the year. using the surplus rifle seemed to be more fun to me ..........

Good job! I just got a doe on Thursday with my $200 Hawk 982 12guage 18.5 barrel with iron sights.

Very nice! i bought 7.62x54r hunting ammo but never used the 91/30 but i agree it is a good choice. Enjoy your harvest!

Good point, what load were you using...like i said im interested for next season...i feel confident in a 100+ yard shot with my mosin

i was using prvi partisan 150 gr. soft point at the time. i want to try the same brand in 203 gr. soft point also. it doesnt hurt that i have a 54r vepr ...FUN SHOOTER
