Will shooting a .45LC out of a .454 hurt the rifle?
Ok, so I am going to look at a Puma stainless model 92 in .454. I have been told that it is OK to shoot .45LC from it. My question is, over time, would it have a harmful effect on the chamber of the rifle?
I have been told that the constant shooting of a .38 out of a .357 revolver does affect the gun. So, I wonder if this might be a similar scenario?

Re: Will shooting a .45LC out of a .454 hurt the rifle?
No, it won't hurt it. However, you have to be diligent in cleaning of the chamber. The reason is the same as firing .38's out of a .357 gun. The shorter round will leave deposits in the chamber, which can form a ring of residue. Clean it well and you'll have no problems. Don't clean it well, and you'll be hard pressed getting .454's in that gun...
