    Default walmart carry

    Okay, so after reading the history here of bad experiences at Walmart, I must ask: Since we now all know that company policy is NOT against carrying, but some local walmarts ARE;

    A) should we avoid carrying, or open carrying at the least, in those we know for sure will flip their lids over it? (For whatever reason, not just legal)

    B) if it hasn't been done alrady, should there be a letterwriting campaign to their corporate HQ to alert them to some of the local stores' policies?

    C) would it be best to ask management in advance what their personal policy is, since they seem to make it up as they go?

I try to avoid Walmart in general, though I still end up in them on a regular basis. My opinion is... I'm legally carrying, if they have a problem with it, they can ask me to leave.

If they do more then just ask me to leave, then they may (depending on the situation) find themselves on the receiving end of litigation.

The problem with your option "C" - If you ask, they will say no. Simple as that.

    ETA:
I should point out that when I shop at Walmart, I Open carry - so it's not like they can't see it.

Ive never had a problem at the local WM, in fact once a fellow asked me about it and I directed him here to check things out, and seemed very happy to get the info.

Then again, its a small WM and local, YMMV.

I have found for everything but cheap throw away crap, Walmart is useless. I mainly buy tools there I need in a hurry and expect to break.

OMFG, I can't take it any longer!
Last night, in the chat room, I mentioned that if I saw another thread with W-mart in the title, I was going to do something drastic.

Rather than off myself, I'm gonna just rant, and please don't take it personally Mxyzptlk, as you just happened to post this while I'm going through withdrawals from my experiment to see if I could keep from posting for 24 hours!

Dammit... I don't have time to rant. The above will have to do.
I feel a little better now, but good god, these threads about W-mart are making me insane.

    Thanks for listening.

I don't usualy shop a WM, but the worst they can do is just ask you to leave. I really don't see what the big deal is anyway, I am sure a lot of people have gone to WM and had no problems at all, Just make sure you don't hold a greeter at gun point!

I am really trying to make this somewhat relevent, I personally dont care about WM and what their polocy is becuase I almost never go there.

So EM.... Do blanks hurt? thats all I really wanted to say
