    Default Airguns?

    Anybody into them?

I'm considering buying a suppressed .22 but it seems that there are some pretty nifty airguns out there as well...

    Among others.

Apparently I can get similar performance from an airgun for roughly the same price minus the whole NFA bureaucratic overhead...

    Thoughts?

Depends on what you would use the air-rifle for. If you want to avoid NFA crap, sure - its an option.

    Targets, plinking, etc.

Maybe a small furry creature or two if I ever get that hungry.

Same stuff I'd use a suppressed .22 for...

Then yes, airguns are an option. Just understand that some are just as loud as a .22. You will need to take that into consideration when you decide on an airgun.
    Some people just plain suck.

Some of the ones on the site I linked earlier are claimed to be fairly quiet...

Some are some aren't, check the reviews. I will be in the market for a 22cal soon. One of the more important things I will be looking for is quiet.

It is completely illegal to kill game in Pennsylvania with an airgun.

My .22 rifle using CB caps is pretty darn quiet. I would say it is quieter than my Spring pellet rifle and has the same effective range.

    I love this site.

I've been shooting for ~50 years and I again learned something new today.

I'd never heard of CB caps until this thread.

    Thanks for that.

It's probably not gonna cure me of airgun GAS, but those are nifty little rounds for the right application.
