C&R license holders,,,, beware
They are coming after you too.
" Eliminate restrictions that force the ATF to authorize importation of dangerous weapons simply because of their age:
ATF is required to authorize the importation of certain “curio or relic” firearms, and outdated regulations include all firearms manufactured more than 50 years ago in the definition of “curio or relic.” But today, firearms manufactured more than 50 years ago include large numbers of semiautomatic military-surplus rifles, some of which are easily convertible into machine guns or otherwise appealing for use in crime. Congress should get rid of restrictions that prevent ATF from changing this definition, enabling ATF to ensure that firearms imported as curios or relics are actually of interest as collectibles, rather than letting these rules be used as a way to acquire fully functional and powerful military weapons."
And they don't even know the name of the license or how BATF determines how certain firearms are classified as C&R. They just haven't done their homework in the RUSH to get this through Congress.
When is the last time a C&R holder committed a crime with their C&R weapon? I've found NONE. What true collector is going to risk losing their license by violating the law and adding NFA parts? This is just too much misinformation.
I am writing my Congress persons, all of them. Then I fax them. Then I call them. Often. Then I fax them again, and again, and again....... rinse/repeat. I need paper on their desk.
EDIT: Here is a link to the "plan" go to page 7, second "bullet". How appropriate...... http://www.wwmt.com/news/features/fi...usegunplan.pdfLast edited by thundrr1; January 18th, 2013 at 10:17 PM.

Re: C&R license holders,,,, beware
I once spoke to someone who works for a very specific division of the ATF. They have had a beef with the SKS for quite some time. From what I remember, they were somehow misled to believe that only a small number of Yugo SKSs existed and had them added to the list for their collector value. Shortly after they were selling at gun shows for $90 a piece by the bazillion. Who knew..... I guess that crate of Yugos caked in cosmoline is going to be worth as much as a truck load of thirty round PMAGS soon... For what it is worth, the Yugo SKS is available for sale to ANYONE, not just us C and R holders. I don't agree with banning any importation, just pointing out a fact.
