Problem is where do you find decent quality 22LR ammo these days? Online or at the local stores? Seems to be a hit or miss affair.

I here ya. i took about a 10 year break while kids were growing and boy have ammo prices gone up. used to be you could get a 500 brick of 22 for $9 or $10 bucks. now it is almost double. been working on getting my dillon out of moth balls. and same thing there. can't even find primers anywhere.

Welcome back to shooting! Almost all ammo (handgun, AR and .22) is quite difficult to get ahold of these days, locally or online. Unfortunately, it seems we must spend more time trying to find ammo to shoot as we do shooting it. It's very hit or miss at walmart, but quite frankly, it is the cheapest place to find it when they get it in. You have to hit the store at night or first thing in the morning when the manager stocks (each store is a little different.)

If you have a smart phone, download the Walmart app. Search in it for ammo and it will tell you which stores in your area have it in stock, or limited stock. Limited means less than 5; In Stock means 5 or more. But it goes quick. When the truck arrives at the store, it shows in stock in the app shortly after. Once it is unloaded, if you go in the evening, you might be able to get someone to go in the back and check, you might not. Don't bother calling to ask, you will either get an automatic no or you won't get an answer at the sporting goods desk. Good luck.
