Democrat increase
I saw on the news this morning that the Voter registration shows a very big surge in new Democrats. And that number of Democrats is at an all time high.
I know that in the Gay Community the push is on strong for supporting Democrats since Harrisburg started pushing for a Gay Marriage ban. I wonder how many other things are going to come in the next couple months to split the State?

Re: Democrat increase
Honestly, with the way the republicans have been running things, its no suprise there are more Dems than ever.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams

Re: Democrat increase
It could be that many republicans are not registering because they don't plan on voting in the primary.

Re: Democrat increase
A good amount of people are switching or joining democrats strictly for primary purposes. For once people think PA makes a difference in the primary when in reality they still don't (read: no candidate will get a majority needed before convention). I wouldn't read too much into this.

Re: Democrat increase
That's because of assholes, like me, who switched just to vote for the woman, to block the black man, only to vote for the old guy in the fall. Then I'll switch back.

Re: Democrat increase
There's not a whole lot of difference to be made in the Republican Presidential Primary, so some people switched parties to be able to vote for the candidate that they feel will be the easiest to defeat.
At this point, I'm more concerned with getting the right people into the lower offices.
I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

Re: Democrat increase
I like where your heads at but you're voting the wrong person. The woman has a much better chance head to head against the old guy. Think swing states of PA and OH. I wouldn't call the states flat out racist but what Rendell said about race and PA (something along the lines that he got 5% more votes b/c Swann was black) didn't come out of thin air.
Just my point of view opinion...results may vary."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Re: Democrat increase
Ya....registered Dem............throwback to my blue-collar parents days.
BUT....I will vote Republican when it counts.
My logic is to see Obama get the nomination................this country will not vote a black man in--scares the rednecks and soccer moms. McCain wins.
If Hillary wins....every Oprah zombie will vote for her and doom us all.
IF---and its a big IF---Obama should be voted prez.......be more worried about his VP------Obama will be the target of every patriot w/ a cause and won't last long...Secret Service can't hire fast enough!
