ithaca 37 mag tube removal?
i have an early 70's model 37 feather light. I have been throwing around the idea of turning it into a HD gun. I have 3 options, 1st) just cut the original smooth bore barrel down to 18.5" and leave the mag tube and barrel lug where it is. for a HD gun with 5+1
2nd) replace the mag tube to the 8 shot one, mag spring and barrel to the 20" riot barrel with the lug already located at the end of the barrel. but im not sure how the 5 shot mag tube is in the receiver. is it screwed/soldered, or what???? how is it removed?
3rd) buy a mossberg 500 HD gun for $429
3rd will be a last resort. id like to use the 37 because i like the simplicity, all metal parts, and bottom eject.
can anyone help me out.
