Thoughts on carry handle mounted optics?
Hey all, I've been thinking about mounting optics on my NON-detachable carry handle. Any thoughts on this? I'm worried that this may put the sight/scope too high to comfortably shoot from. Any good/bad experiences? Thanks.

If you really want to utilize a optic you have 3 choices with a fixed carry handle.
1. Use a carry handle mount in conjunction with and adjustable cheek riser.

2. Use a Carry handle mount that places the optic forward of the carry handle.

3. Crane your neck.Toujours prêt

Re: Thoughts on carry handle mounted optics?
I like the forward drop mount. Has anyone seen/used one that works? I'm not trying to spend a few hundred replacing a part of my gun that is perfectly in tact....

Re: Thoughts on carry handle mounted optics?
I have used a Colt 3 power on an old A1 for over 25 years. It still works now. Its only three power but it works out ok on an AR. The Colt scope is made with a "notch" under the scope so as you can still ues the open sights. They don't make the Colt anymore but there are clones and ones that work the same way.
