Corbett says he'll consider gun-show limits
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Gov. Tom Corbett says he'll consider a radio-show caller's suggestion that gun shows be banned on publicly owned property.
The caller on WITF's "Smart Talk" radio show Friday asked the governor why gun shows are allowed at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg and whether he'd support a ban.
Corbett said no one has ever suggested the idea to him before and promised to give it some thought.
But he said the Farm Show Complex is open to all businesses. He noted that prospective gun buyers at gun shows must be cleared through the Pennsylvania State Police instant background check system , just as they are when buying weapons from gun shops.
Before everyone starts on their rants about Tom Corbett not being pro-gun enough by their standards (whatever that is). Do you think this would even be a thought with former PA governor Fast Eddie Rendell to ban guns every chance he could get to?.
I got problems with Governor Corbett not doing enough for gun owners for our support or keeping promises with ROS, Still faced without a chance of a veto from recent past PA governors ever thought about vetoing any gun control bills that got to their desk.
With Governor Corbett at least we got a chance for a veto to gun control, to hold his feet to the fire, so keep this in mind to temper your outrage to coments.
I will still back Corbett with certain reservations, for another run as PA governor, because the bar maybe low to consider Corbett pro gun, the bar for everyone else running or ran for in the past is laying flat on the floor for the most of rest that run for governor.
I have also been at gun shows in western PA when then attorney general Corbett (between runs for office) was walking around unescorted looking at firearms and accessories to purchase, something you won’t see to often from anyone elected to office going to gun shows to shop. alson know that 99.9% of the people at the show had no idea who he was at that time

He can give a suggestion some thought and still decide against it. I think his answer is that of a typical politician. I don't think it's time to grab the torches and pitchforks just yet. But a simple call is in order.

You are correct!
hence the reason for posting the number for everyone to call!
Politely express your views, you can also mention getting rid of PICS and instructing the PSP commissioner to order the use of the delete key for the ROS (Record Of Sale) database, if you want to go all out

Re: Corbett says he'll consider gun-show limits
While you're contacting the Governor and your representatives about gun control and gun shows & etc., how about asking them what they plan to do about the REAL problem -- How to keep children and young adults from becoming violent?
It's not just music, TV, video games, etc. The issue is children and young adults who are allowed to become victimized by the more powerful in society -- negletful/abusive parents and relatives, the "in crowd" in school, etc. Kids are attacked and bullied for not having the right coat, backpack, brand/style of shoes, not the latest hot new cell phone, whatever. Quiet kids, smart/nerdy kids get picked on because they are easy targets for bullies; those kids usually don't fight back -- until it's way too late and too violent.
Every shooter I can recall since Oswald and Speck in the 60s has had some kind of troubled past during their formative years. The abuse eats at these individuals until they finally snap.
When they snap, if guns aren't around there will be blades, molotov cocktails, whatever. Kids are internet savvy and there's myriad ways to accomplish their goals without firearms.
What ARE lawmakers and policy-setters going to do to stop it?
