    Default Yesterday's Lowes experience

I went to Lowes yesterday to get a EGOchainsaw. I found what I wanted and put it in the cart. Apparently they have a motion sensor attached to the box. It started squealing the moment I moved the box.

I wasn't done shopping so I just pushed the cart through the store with this thing screaming. I came across a couple employees and asked is there any way to shut it off. I was informed they would do it at checkout.

I proceeded to push this squealing thing around the store through various departments while I finished shopping.

I got quite a few looks. A couple of people were laughing and experienced the same thing.

Went to the checkout and had 3 seperate people try to shut it off while the line backed up.

Finally a old timer from the lumber department walked past. Pulled out a razor knife and cut the banding off. Put the beeper in his pocket and walked away. He looked over his shoulder and gave me a wink.

    I checked out and left.

    The world has gone insane.

I've wondered why such stores don't have better loss prevention measures.Home Cheapo has security guards stationed at the front entrances for thirty bucks an hour instead of patrolling the floor.

Next time, buy online for curbside pickup and avoid the nonsense.

But at least you were able to walk around with it. I was at Home Depot the other day and they had so much stuff locked up it made me want to steal something just out of spite.

Ours has a cop for 68.00 per hour and he's told not to detain or arrest anybody,
just to call it in so another cop on the road might get them.
