Cheaper than Dirt might be on the higher end of the spectrum of in-stock prices, but I cant find any 9mm thats less than twice as expensive as it normally is. .223/5.56 ammo is triple or more of normal. And thats if you can find any at all in stock.

I checked out gun broker and prices there tend to average around .60 per round. Self defense ammo is over a buck a round.

National Armory in Moon wants $25/50 9mm FMJ marked Target Sports. I saw a picture on FB that was $350 for a case of steel 7.62x39. I didn*t see what the brand was, but imagine it*s on the low end.

I remember. I wanted to build an AR then, was just putting off buying the lower, then Sandy Hook happened and suddenly everything was gone. Couldnt even get .40 ammo for my handgun.

I think this go around is worse in the availability/price department.

Federal had some basic .223 on its website as of this weekend. They're saying around 2 weeks for delivery. May still have some 9mm left as well.

I do not remember it that high even at the peak of the previous panics. I remember it at $15-$18 for brass case 115 grain. But it was at least there, unlike the present. I know this too, shall pass, but it may take a while. At least until November at minimum.

    More 7.62x39 goodness...

The bolt face is the weak point in the x39 AR15. Always a good idea to have a spare.
You could buy an entire BCG to keep on hand, but all you really need is the bolt.
A complete bolt makes swapping it out very fast.

This is a really really good price when you factor in that it includes an enhanced firing pin. ($10-$13 value alone)
It's like getting a complete bolt for $36 - the price of a stripped bolt.

If you don't already have an enhanced firing pin and are planning a x39 build - you WILL want an enhanced firing pin for reliable primer detonation on steel case ammo.

7.62x39 AR15 Bolt Completion Kit with Enhanced Firing Pin

    SALE PRICE $47.95

I just clicked on Aim Surplus link via an emailed announcement.
I looked at ammo for the hell of it.
    No 5.56 in stock.
The showed Wolf 7.62x39 IN STOCK for $4.99 - not that crazy at all.
A few minutes later, I refreshed the page and it was OUT OF STOCK.

Keep an eye out. Sign up for in stock notifications. You can still find it at reasonable prices. If you are fast.

AR500 has BOGO lvl3 plates again in the promotion section... Everything else on the site you can use the code at the top of the page to get 20% off order... Unfortunately you can't get 20% off the promotion stuff.
