Nope, there are reviews as recent as a few months ago with the same problem. It's shit.

1200 rounds of 5.56 IMI steel tip/SS109, $.70/round. Sadly, think that is a deal for the times. Better than similarly priced steel case, anyway

Pretty soon we are going to have to put together a group buy in order to get a single case of ammo.

I actually wish I though if that earlier when federal would offer those 50 gallon drums of 5.56 ammo.

For quantity, that's a good idea. But I dont think they ever cut much of a deal vs. smaller amounts (going off memory, but seem to recall that being true even pre2020).

I had one a few years ago, but I shot it all up.

This will be affecting me at the range. I did stock up over the last couple of years and am good. But I really do enjoy taking newbies to the range and letting them fire off a few mags and tell them not to worry about the money for them. But thinking about it.

Use to be 4 magazines of ammo would cost $8-$9 each to replace. So $32-$36. I*m not rich but to get a newbie into shooting worth it to me.

Now you are talking $21-$24 per mag to replace... or $84-$96 just for Ar ammo. Work other guns and ammo into the mix and it runs up fast. A bit to much for my blood. Sucks because I have a lot of people I would like to take to the range but I don*t want to start sailing through my ammo and I don*t want to pay an arm and a leg to replace it.

According to a recent post in the Lounge, one such drum was raffled off by the Suttersville volunteer fire company 3 weeks ago. I imagine that it was not the only one.
