Durkin Tactical is doing their el cheapo kit sales again. They do have a disclaimer on there saying that shooting steel cased ammo voids warranty, not exactly sure what that's about YMMV.

I have a few of their kits. I did get a couple bad bcgs that were out of spec and the firing pin didn't move. Emailed customer service both times, both times they sent me a return shipping label, and i had a new one inside of a week. Other than that, went together fine, ran 4 mags fine, then went in the ziplocks.

Yeah, I remember, good for other members to hear though. Just don't know WTF is with the steel case "warning," I don't remember seeing that on their site before, although maybe I missed it. Don't know how they'd prove it either.

That steel case warning is definitely new. I've never seen or heard of that, I can't imagine a single reason that it couldn't shoot steel. It sounds like someone had a bad experience, blamed it on the ammo, and made a big fuss.

That is an amazing fucking price.
Those are CMMG mags that sell for $20 each on sale - I see no difference.

I'm conflicted. I said I would wait until I get home and see if they are still available. They are. (or ARE they?)
I may chance it too. $36.35 shipped for 4 mags that would cost $90 otherwise? Hard to pass up.

I prefer the black ones, but a can of Krylon can fix that.

At least they look better than the NEW CMMG mags that are shipping with their conversion kits.

They use cheap garbage extractors so if it breaks they blame steel cased ammo

That upper shown in the image above - you'll need a reaction rod or some sort of similar block to hold it to torque a barrel onto it.
I ruined one of those uppers trying to use a clamshell upper vise block because it's molded to fit a standard upper - not that slick side, angular design.
Nice upper, but know that it's not gonna fit in those $12 blocks for attaching your barrel.

best ways I have found to deal with this is shove the bcg in there to keep it from collapsing and or notch out a couple cuts of 2x4 for the top rail and the lugs and vice it sideways. Or these work phenomenally but in a pinch so does a 2x4.
