Go look at what PSA wants for an upper now. I hope you are sitting down.

Tempted but is it a piece of trash?

    I'm happy with PSA's quality.

Their 10.5" uppers with similar handguard are around $429 for a comparable one to that one you linked, WITH BCG and CH. The one you linked is $407 after adding, them, so it's actually comparable, without PSA's reputation.

edit: Holy crap, LAST WEEK they were $429, now they're $509!

This is something to be very weary about, especially after 2013. Many companies are going to do whatever they can to make a buck. These pop up places usually all use the same chinesium parts as well as out of spec (non existent QA/QC) barrels and BCGs. These companies will fold easily when the market waivers or the complaints that arise become to heavy to stay open. I don’t see it being worth hard earned money to get questionable parts just to get them. I’ve done this before and learned a hard lesson.

What about the Lancer hybrid mags? Can anyone confirm they work in the LR308? Had my hands on a couple 25rd yesterday but the bag is confusing. Says SR/dpms/lm308 on it...my concern is that they are genII dpms

I would call ahead, but I remember $70ish. I was there to pick up something else and wasn't paying too much attention, sorry!

You should be fine dmps gen 1 and two should not be affected by the mag it's a upper receiver rail height difference if I recall.

I'd personally avoid for something a bit better (Aero, PSA, etc.) and in 11.5" preferably for all of the benefits that extra inch adds. One thing that's sticking out to me is the lack of an anti-rotation tab on the handguard.

If you do go for it I would remove the handguard, remove the gas block set screws, dimple the barrel (which probably isn't) and reinstall the gas block and handguard to proper torque with thread locker. This should take care of the most likely problems of a budget upper (handguard twisting and gas block sliding forward).
