You'd better have trade goods OTHER than guns and ammo. Like alcohol, dental floss, tools, Q-tips, toilet paper, gas mask filters, and other useful things. Arming people who planned poorly is itself a poor plan. But swapping them your AA batteries for their strawberries won't come back to haunt you.

Just this week debt crossed 100% of GDP, supposedly the limit after which it becomes more and more impossible to service one's debt. OK for now, but if rates go up significantly, it would get ugly. All depends on confidence in Fed/dollar. Half my investments are in gold and gold miners. Other half is in cash. Ironic aspect of stock market crash is, the dollar can go up in value as it becomes scarce due to imploding debt (not enough dollars around to pay off debt.) So gold and cash are two liquid ways to hedge the situation. Seems like ammo has been as good as gold though I have to say with regards to appreciation, if not better. Glad I bought, though I must admit I took some abuse at home for buying so much. And the AR's have appreciated as well.

Thing about selling ammo and AR's for profit now is, if Biden is elected, and it looks like he will be, and if the Republicans lose the Senate, which is very possible, then we will see swift legislation to ban AR's a la the 90's, and quite possibly legislation to up the difficulty of buying ammo, as California has done. So end result is, it may prove very difficult/expensive to buy back your stash in the retail market for a long, long while (like it took before), even if it is eventually overturned in the courts at some future date. The recent ruling in California's 9th circuit regarding magazine size is somewhat reassuring, but if Dem's own the House, Senate, Presidency, they will have the keys to loading the courts up with libs going forward. We are in a worse situation than even when we were staring down a potential Hillary presidency. Gun control is now a huge and central Dem. plank in their overall platform.
