Thanks for the tips, but I won't do glasses online.
The whole process makes no sense to me. Nobody to help you select a style that works and nobody to properly fit them.
I've had nothing but nightmares in the past when it comes to getting my glasses "done right" and I'd rather pay a lot to have them done right.
My wife ordered glasses online, but she only needs them to be legal when driving and never wears them otherwise so no big deal for her if it's all not 100% perfect.
Add in my new need for bifocals and there's just no way I'm leaving my ability to see to some online store.

EDIT: The one bright spot is that I do have two other pair. When I last got glasses I did the buy one get one and then I decided to add a third pair at a discount that I would use for work only. Those are the ones with the big nick in them. They were getting pretty beat up anyway with tiny specks all over the lenses.
I don't have to rush out and buy new glasses in order to see, so I'm thankful for that.
I do however need new glasses anyway as I need bifocals and have for at least a year.

my only concern is pupilary distance.
no one has ever "fit" my glasses and i would just pick frames in similar dimensions to what i own.
that being said. have to go get my script soon for sunglasses. $68 for anti glare glasses and thays with ins paying most... too much for sunglasses

The pupilary distance( PD) wasn't too bad. they give you a Paper tape measure so I just asked the GF to help me and then checked it in the mirror (per their instructions). or wait and When you go for your next exam for sunglasses ask them what it is.

my understa ding is that is the only thing the law doesnt require them to provide.
its the only "hold" they have on selling glasses locally.
so results might vary. ive never asked. glasses are new to me.
