Do you have to have new? If not check out the used market in the shops in your area. Or try guns America or gun broker or what ever online used gun service you like to get a general idea of prices.

Re: .357 snubby help...
If you plan to shoot it a lot with hot 357 loads there is no better answer than a Ruger SP101.
If you plan to carry it a lot with 357s and shoot mostly 38 for practice, you can't go wrong with a Taurus or Rossi (now made by Taurus). Anything from all steel, to aluminum to titanium frame is available in the Taurus line.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President

Re: .357 snubby help...
I have the taurus 605 in stainless steel. At 24oz. it's rather easy to control with .357 mag ammo. a little heavy for pocket carry though.

Re: .357 snubby help...
Is your mind made up on the 357?
A 38SP +P can be had for a much better price than the 357 by various makes. What you lose in caliber/power you gain in controllability.
I personally decided that whatever I carry I want to make sure I am comfortable shooting, and will not mind so much practicing with. The 38SP +P just works for me better than the 357.........the 357 in a light gun is a bear to shoot, for me at least, and not one I would want to practice much with....
Just my .02

Re: .357 snubby help...
Taurus snubby is an excellent choice. I have Taurus Model 651 protecter for daily carry, and its an accurate, easy to carry,\
When you think about snubby, you'll have to consider thelighter the gun, harder its going to be to shoot.
Mine weighs 25oz, but considering its chambered for .357mag, I do NOT want anything less!
Shooting 357mag out of this is stupid as is, and even 38sp would bark with gun this small.
So before you drop $$$ on super light snubby in .357mag, you want to think - Do I really want .357mag snubby that light?
Because you'll love the super light weight for carrying, but you'll curse the world everytime you shoot it.
Not to mention I paid $319 for my SS 651. Not $650+ for same model thats Titanium...Last edited by Mity2; March 22nd, 2008 at 02:30 PM.
