Massad Ayoob's LFI course in Harrisburg
The thread on books reminded me that Massad Ayoob's Lethal Force Institute is holding a session in Harrisburg this summer.

Has anyone ever taken the course? Met him? Taken a similar course? Going by the man's resume, I'm sure it would be a blast (pun intended), and also offer some pretty excellent training. It's pretty expensive though. Thoughts?Pittsburgh, PA

Have not taken any course but...
Outdoor channel on Wed. nights has several gun programs in the evening.
I think the one called 'Personal Defense' has a slot for him giving advice or showing a tactic. When he is on, I am always glad and pick up some good pointers.

Re: Massad Ayoob's LFI course in Harrisburg
I attended way back in 1996. It is an exceptionally good class that focuses on the legal ramifications of a justifiable shooting. It was not Pennsylvania specific and it was not a shooting class per se but I think it's a very worthwhile.
FWIW, we're considering scheduling a class this year dealing specifically with PA Law regarding lethal force.

Tony -- schedule permitting, I would be interested in that class.
(Especially if PeteG. can arrange for CLE credit for us lawyer-like types!)
Regarding Mas Ayoob, I haven't taken any of his classes, but I've read some of the stuff he's written, and he seems like a good guy. If I could spare the $800.00 and time off work, I'd want to take that class as well.Last edited by Johannes_Paulsen; March 20th, 2008 at 07:43 PM.

Just a reminder, any questions can be directly asked to Massad on Glocktalk by either starting a thread or by contacting him personally.
I believe his username to be Mas Ayoob

Dang.......$800 is kind of pricey especially with only 40% of the class being range time.

I'm an LFI 1 graduate. I would say that if you're going to carry a handgun, it's worth every penny. I would suggest buying his book "In the Gravest Extreme". Much of the info in it is discussed in the class. And yes, Mas is a lot of fun to talk to. He definitly keeps the class interesting.

I would attend Massad's class if it was 100% lecture and 0% range time.
It's not all about pulling the trigger
