    Default 1971 Llama .380 Pricing & Advice?

I made a thread before, but now I actually have the gun in my possession and have taken pictures of it. I was told by a fellow member of the forum that it is worth from $250-$350. It was bought in June of 1971. I have the original box and receipt.

What would be your suggested sale value?
Is this gun any good, any experiences?

    Any information much appreciated.
    Here are pictures.

I have owned a couple of LLamas over the years and they have been good shooters if maintained. As to price in todays market there are no knowns and many unknowns. Sorry I could not be of more help.

i have seen them at gun shows from 79.00 to 225.00. problem with them is getting parts, not to mention you can get a really bad one that jams every 2nd shot or a good one that jams less. i would try 200 and see what happens

I had one that was like new in a .32 ACP it was accurate, but about every 3 rounds it would stove pipe on me. Tried a few different types of ammo and I sold it for $200 a couple of years ago. They carry easy and point well but, I can't stand a carry piece that you can't depend on.

I carry my Springfield XD 40 and I've never had it jam with any ammo.

I generally have a poor opinion of Llama firearms; however I happened to acquire one of these .380's years and ago, and was pleasantly surprised that, as long as hardball ammo is used, it is very reliable. It won't feed hydra-shocks worth a tinker's damn, don't know about other hollow points.

I'm not a fan of Llama's; I don't like .380's -- however there's something about this little pistol that appeals to me.

If I were looking to buy one, I would not be willing to pay more than about $150.00 for one, but I have seen then selling for north of $200.

I could not see a model but it looks like sort of like the Llama Small Frame Model. My newest blue book, 32nd edition, list that model at 100% for $325 and 95% at $200. On the plus side, you have the documentation that collectors look for; the original box, papers, etc. Wish I could be more help but I don't know much about Llamas.

    Llama IIIA .380. It's a Spanish scaled version of a 1911.
Single action trigger with a locked breech. Even has a Grip safety.
Mine is the chromed model made in the 80's. Unlike most people
I happen to like and collect Spanish Pistols. Llama, Star and Astra.
Very underrated. Mine have been very dependable. Your looking
at between $200 and $300 in Value.

Nice looking Llama - I have several and love them. Are you sure your's is locked breech? If it is, it would be an oddity. The 380 III A's were blowback after 1975. Before 1975 many were locked breech, but I have not heard of any more modern ones being locked ????

Llama III-A: Manufactured from 1954 to 1997. Self-loading pistol, blowback operation (earlier models up to about 1975: locked breech),

Here's one of my older 380's with locked breech ( model VI ) and a more modern IIIA with blowback along with a .32 with blowback. I have several others in 9mm, 45, 357 mag, 22 - all function flawlessly Love my Llama's!
