    Default Benelli M2 Tactical?

Was at my LGS doing a firearm transfer, when I spied a Benelli M2 tactical with ghost ring sites and an 18.5" barrel on the wall..

Now, I've been wanting a semiauto shotgun, specifically a Benelli M4 for quite some time, but the price (roughly $1800.00) was always a deterrent. Simply could not justify spending that much money on a shotgun..

When we I saw the M2 on the wall, I pretty much said screw it and took it home with me, price was under $1100.00 out the door.

Other than the fact that this is recoil operated while the M4 is piston operated, I really did not know much about this particular shotgun...

anyone here familiar with this shotgun?

It's a fantastic defensive shotgun.. The M2 Tactical comes with the smooth bore and cylinder choke if I recall. The Benelli M2 is regarded as one of, if not the best shotguns on the market. The only knock against them is the price, and I have heard rumors of cycling issues with side saddles mounted up on the receiver. That said, I have an M2 field, and an M3 and both are fantastic shotguns and eat everything I feed them. The M3 convertible is my "go to" home defense shotgun.

If you are looking for side saddle mounts and spare shell carriers, check out the system by Raven Concealment. It works pretty well..

I have no experience with the M2, but I own an M1 (Super90) and it is a great shotgun. It is my understanding the M2 is the updated version of the M1, but I could be wrong.
When I first bought it, I put about 100 "heavy" loads through it to break it in and have no issues shooting any load.

Buy it. That is a pretty good price.
    I'm also looking for a M2.
As a non gas gun it will handle light (cheep) practice target loads and full on defense loads.
