Getting my suppressor going to send in my
Like title says ,would like some input on a Leo sign off ?
Do I just drop it off ? Or do I just sit and wait while he signs off ?
I'm in carbon county 5 mins from Jim Thorpe pa .
I think the psp guys and gals are playing some sort of prank because I called to see when I can get my finger prints taken and he didn't know what a suppressor was ?
I had to explain it to him ....
Where can I get my prints taken near me And Do they cost anything to be printed ?
I got a gemtech blackside for my hk-T
I'm very optimistic about the sheriff signing off .
Is there anything I can do to speedy up the proccess .the ffl said 6-8 month wait !!!

Re: Getting my suppressor going to send in my
I'll try to answer some of your questions
1. Sheriff: Depends on how he/she likes to do these sign offs, if at all. Might do it on the spot, might talk to you, might say come back in 3 weeks, might just laugh at it and say no. Someone with more experience with the sheriff in that area will likely chime in.
2. I had my prints done by my PSP barracks. Didn't cost me a thing. Some barracks do it others don't. Might have to call around to other ones in your county, or try a different towns PD.
3. The wait............not much you can do. I believe the wait was about 6 months when I sent off my paper work back in late July and I'm still waiting

Re: Getting my suppressor going to send in my
I had a local P.D. do my prints for me. I dropped off the forms at the county courthouse and was called to pick them up a month later. (Montco) My wait has just started.

Re: Getting my suppressor going to send in my
i am glad i have a trust . blair co sheriff won't sign off 4 any one .
i could look for a more local police chief to sign off. but now i don't have to get finger prints or beg someone to sign off . theirs a lot of others that can sign off like prosecutors.

Re: Getting my suppressor going to send in my
Chester County is really good about and NFA stuff. I had my prints and sign off for three NFA items done all in one visit. As others have already said, a lot will depend on the sheriff in your county and their view. Do you already have the finger print cards from your FFL? My FFL supplied the finger print cards for the suppressor I bought, but I had to order a stack of cards for a few SBR projects I have in the works.
My check was just cashed by the ATF a couple days ago for my AAC SDN-6. I have the paper work filled out for a Draco SBR and an AR-15 SBR I am going build as well. I need to get cracking and get those in the mail asap, so the wait can start.
Anyway.. good luck!

You can go to the BATFE site and order the fingerprint cards and any other forms you need for free. They shipped my forms out in two days.
