Connecticut School Shooting

State police are responding to a report of a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, at 12 Dickenson Drive in Newtown.

Newtown police called state police at 9:41 a.m. to assist.

State police have entered the school and evacuations are underway. Several troopers have responded and it is an active scene, according to Lt. Paul Vance. of the state police.

The entire district is in lockdown and a reverse 911 call went out to parents.

The fire department and the first selectman are enroute.

We have a crew heading to the scene. More information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
