    Default Firearms transfer in PA

Can long guns be legally sold FTF between individuals in PA without going through a FFL dealer/paperwork, etc? Thanks.

Yes so long as both are PA residents and neither are prohibited persons.

Long guns aren't "firearms" in PA - except they are when it is relevant to prohibited persons.

As Knight already posted it is legal as long as both buyer and seller are PA residents and are not prohibited.

But a transfer does buy you the piece of mind that the buyer is in fact not prohibited and reduces your risk if the firearm ends up involved in a crime.

True, using an FFL reduces your risk to effectively zero; compliance with the UFA immunizes the seller (in the absence of some sort of conspiracy, for example, to sell a non-prohibited guy a gun so that he can shoot his wife.)
