While I'm all for defending your home, shooting someone "under the chin up into the cranium" for a "good clean finishing shot", and I'm just guessing here, probably isn't the smartest thing to do. And maybe not the best thing to tell the cops.
However, I have a feeling that breaking and entering will pretty much cease in that area for a while. I feel for the homeowner here, he just took it too far.The mightiest oak in the forest is just a little nut that held his ground.
