woooooooohooooooo!!

pitt just "upset" marquette (questionable if that is really an upset) in the big east semi-finals...after having upset louisville (a big upset) in the quarter finals last night...

which means they are now in the big east finals against georgetown tomorrow night in a rematch of last year's final (which pitt lost).

not bad for coming into the tournament seeded 7th.

pitt has now been to 7 of the last 8 big east conference championship games. no small feat in the toughest conference in all of college basketball.

While no small feat, I wouldn't call it the toughest in basketball. I would reserve that spot for the ACC. While I am a huge pitt hoops fan, they are 1-5 in big East Champ games, not something I would be proud of. It's great to get there, but it's what happens when you get there that counts

the ACC is tougher at the very top...though, don't forget that pitt did beat duke...but, from top to bottom the big east is significantly better.

pretty much every single game in the big east is a tough game--you get no nights off. not so in the ACC.

it'll show when we see how many bids each conference gets
