Default should i replace my ltcf

I'm about 2yrs into the 5yr period on my montgomery county LTCF, they had just started issuing the laminated cards fairly regularly and this goes back to when montco was breaking the law by charging like 46 dollars for the hard card. Problem is all of the writing and my picture has worn off the front my license number issue date and reason for carry are practically illegible. Should I get this replaced and does anyone know the process for replacing it or if the process is better now

My dad's is just as worn down. I think as long as it's valid you should be okay, they can probably look you up in their systems. You may want to show it to the people in the sheriff office and ask what they think, too.

    IANAL

No, you should not. If you ask for a replacement they will REVOKE your license and you'll have to apply again in the computer.

This means moving forward, if ever asked if your LTCF has ever been revoked, you'll have to answer YES.

Typically that would be on an application of another CCW or maybe court one day...

Really? Mine is from Montco and it has 3 check-boxes in one section:
    [ ]New
    [x]Renew
    [ ]Duplicate

This would seem to imply that they have some sort of provision for issuing duplicates (as opposed to replacements).

There is no available method in the system to reissue a duplicate LTCF before renewal time. It has to be revoked in order to be reprinted

Agreed. I (physically) lost mine in Dauphin County. They made me apply for a new one and it took a week or two. I now carry a duplicate and leave the original at home.

I got mine in March of 2010 and my face is halfway missing on mine. This is a known issue and I will carry it until 2015 as is. It's not our fault. If its such an issue they should recall them or just send us new ones. I'm not worried about.

How uninformed you are. On any card I've seen there has been a duplicate box. Unless you're inferring the sheriff is illegally revoking cards, you're wrong.

Have you seen a duplicate since the system was standardized last year?
There is literally no way in the new system to issue a duplicate.
It MUST be revoked and reissued.

Some one is uninformed, but it is you

Actually, I have. I was out of PA for a while and moved back. They misprinted my card, they had to correct it. My card is marked "correction / duplicate"
