First OC Encounter, Good too!

I was leaving Wal Mart today and had just loaded the van with groceries and my daughter. I took the cart to the cart station and as I returned someone pulled into the driver side spot next to mine. 3 older folks (a couple prob in their 40s and an elderly woman) got out, the women on the passenger side exited and began to put some coats on. I patiently waited behind my van while they donned their garments.

The man turned to me and said see what I have to deal with when Im with these women?

I smiled and chuckled a bit.

The younger of the two women then said to me: Do they let you carry that gun in the store?

It kind of took me off guard....

Me: Of course!

Her: How often do you carry like that?

Me: I carry everywhere I legally can at all times.

Her: Oh thats good, my son also carries a gun. I think its great as long as you have your little card that says you can carry.

Me: Outstanding! Some places try to chase you out for wanting to carry, I dont patron at those places.

Older Woman: Well that is lovely

I said goodbye and wished them a Happy Thanksgiving, got into the van and left. Not much, but it was officially my first OC encounter with anyone.

I also found out today my barber carries and has been carrying since the day I met him, I was really surprised. He showed me a few of his new pistols and I told him about my new talon grip tape I got for my glock. He said well lets see it! and he was very impressed. I told him they would be having a black friday sale 33% off all their grip tapes, they already have free shipping and the grips are only 14 bucks anyways but a savings is a savings. He is also going to sponsor me at his local club, which I have had a lot of problems with being new in town. Now we have EVEN MORE to talk about next time I see him lol

I must say though that $15 plus shipping for tape is crazy. A sheet that could cover 10 or more grips easy is like $7 from any skate shop.

Figure out the pattern you need and make a paper template, and most skate shops will cut it for you. Just sayin.

i figured someone would say something about that.

When one says "Older", sometimes they mean literally "Older than themselves", when I said that, I also meant "Older than myself" not literally OLD.

Jesus Christ. If someone called me an older folk I'd shoot them in the head. Older folks = 60+ Good encounter though.

I used to look at "older" as a generation above. Now that I'm almost 30 I like to think of old as 90.

That way when I'm 70 I won't consider myself too old yet.
