    Default Steamtown in Scranton, PA

Took my kids to Steamtown for the first time last Sunday. Had a great time and the weather was perfect. Only one thing caught me off-guard; no firearms permitted in the building. There was a sticker on the door along with some warnings and federal statutes stating why entering the premises with a firearm is illegal. I didn't want to push my luck so I turned around, went to the car, and locked my HS2K in the glovebox.

Pardon my ignorance, but I didn't realize Steamtown was a federal complex until that day. Well, just wanted to share in case others didn't know.

Steamtown is run by the National Park Service. Parks comply with state law, buildings, however, still fall under 18 USC 930 (i.e., no guns).
