Ontelaunee "Intro to IDPA" class
Well, I went to the "Introduction to IDPA" class at Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club today. I had tons of fun, I only wish I could have tried more stages! Guess I will have to enter a match sometime.
Dave was very friendly, very helpful, and made this class a lot of fun.
There were about 7 or 8 people there, I was the only one with a 1911. Dave had some trouble remembering names, so even though he would ask everyone else to remind him of their names when he forgot, he simply addressed me as "Mr 1911." I thought that was pretty funny.
Over all a great guy that teaches a great class. I would higly reccommend this free class to anyone thinking about trying out IDPA shooting. I found it to be incredibly addictive.Everyone should have an AK-47

Re: Ontelaunee "Intro to IDPA" class
Bump!
I had the opportunity to attend this class and it answered tons of IDPA questions I had. Most importantly, it helped me realize whether I wanted to start IDPA. Kudos to Dave and the club for this one of a kind orientation!!My GGG Grandpappy, front row (20th NC, Co. F.) and Family Circa 1900.

I've heard a lot good about that class at other matches that I've been to, but have never been there myself.

Re: Ontelaunee "Intro to IDPA" class
I realize that this is still on the NEPA IDPA SCORES website, but I believe that Easton F&G IDPA is done for the year. 11/24 is the last Saturday prior to whitetail season in PA and the rifle range (which is generally used for three IDPA stages) usually sees heavy useage, which precludes having the match.
Please don't take my word for this, but definitely check with the MD before going there, especially if you are traveling any distance.
Phillipsburg, NJ goes year round - but remember no mags >15 rounds.

Re: Ontelaunee "Intro to IDPA" class
I just received an answer from the MD at Easton...
We usually have a small match in November. Officially, our season is over in October, but the board allows us to use just the special event bays in November. We will be running the IDPA postal match which is four stages.
So guess I'll see you there.
