Default Negative Open Carry Encounter While Voting (Video)

So yesterday I went to go vote at the Damascus Poll Center while open carrying my new Beretta 92FS. So I'll post what happend prior to the video. Just to paint the scene the poll center is a small white building. I'm waiting in line and theres this lady that was having some problems voting. There was only about 10 people in the whole place. So I'm waiting there for about 5 minutes then its my turn. I present my id and they start searching for my name on the list when I hear "hey you cant have that in here"

    Me: What?
Constable: Im a constable you cant carry that in here, you will have to put it in your car.
Me: No its okay Im allowed to carry in here
    Constable: No your not
Me: Is this a state facility
Constable: yes it is, as of now because of the voting
Me: Then Im allowed to carry, your allowed to carry its called preemption, I then explained that your allowed to carry in state facilitys along with every town building
I then explained that everything he needed to know was located in the UFA.
He then walked away and said he would call his supervisor. I then ignored him and went on about finding my name on the list. Then one of the polling ladies said if you have a license you can carry it in here. I then explained to her that its open carry and you dont need a license. The lady then got a hold of the sheriffs office on the phone and thats where the video starts.

After the video I then voted and said I guess you can figure out who I'm voting for! They werent amused at all. I would consider this a negative encounter but in the end I stood up for my rights and won. I also handled it in a very mature and polite manner as should all encounters be handled. As you can tell this is obviously not my first encounter with law enforcement far from it actually.

On a side note I would just like to say two things. 1. After about a hour after the encounter I realized that we might still be in a state of emergency. If they would of said something I would of gladly given up my LTCF. 2. The constable never did show me his Id

Well handled. +Rep. I agree that it's a negative encounter.

I wish Youtube had a button, though, to bitchslap people who post video of their feet, swinging around wildly, people standing horizontally, etc. I got motion sickness.

Well done! Thanks for standing up for our rights. I OC'ed at my local polling place when I voted (Community Center, Schuylkill Haven) and nobody even gave me a second look.

Good job sticking up for OC.

On a side note, it sounded a lot like they required your ID to vote even though you said you'd rather not show it.

I like the part where they did not speak with the Sheriff's Office after you were done. You tell them "yeah, I am good to go". They just take you at your word. I love it!

    Be safe (and honest ).

When he said, "you have to put it in the car", I would have said, "What if I walked here?"
