Media Reports Gun Sales Through the Roof? Where?
I've been to a number of shops and several gun shows since August, and almost without exception the gun show attendance has been down.
Washington Co. Fairgrounds in Sept -- aisles not nearly as clogged as usual, not as many people walking guns around to sell, many dealers bitching about sales being off.
Centre Hall Grange Fairgorunds in Sept -- different building this time due to schedule conflict, but the number of showgoers was WAY off compared to usual.
Pennsdale VFD in Oct -- Again, aisles not nearly as clogged, not many guns being walked around, dealers griping about gun sales.
Grove City Gun Club Swap Meet -- Crowd was WAY off compared to last year.
Lander VFD in Oct -- Small firehall show north of Warren, PA; hardly anyone carrying in guns for sale, and not much selling by dealers.
Rocky Grove VFD this past weekend -- Medium firehall show near Franklin; lots of cars in the lot, but at 1100 AM there was no trouble walking through the aisles. Dealers grousing about nobody buying.
Seneca Casino in Salamanca, NY this past weekend -- Spoke with five dealers I know and all reported flatlining sales -- one dealer said he normally does 18-24 guns at this show, and between Sat and 1030 AM Sun he sold three (3) guns. Nobody walking guns around to sell.
Allentown Rodeway Inn this past weekend -- I wasn't there but the Gun Show forum thread lists comments from a few showgoers that arent' very favorable.
What seems to be selling are small pocket semi-auto pistols for protection, small quantities of ammo, AR accessories, and other "trinkets". I've spoken to dealers with ARs and they are saying that sales of ARs not what was expected or hoped for this close to the election.

Re: Media Reports Gun Sales Through the Roof? Where?
I just ordered second safe. Somehow this info is directly connected to a higher sales....
P.s. I prefer my local gun shop for an easy to get items. Or Internet for specifics.Last edited by SHTF; October 29th, 2012 at 01:53 PM.

Re: Media Reports Gun Sales Through the Roof? Where?
More and more people are buying guns online, especially at stores like Buds, who offer everything at really low prices. Its hard for store owners to compete because they have more overhead/employees to pay so their prices have to be higher. Buds had my M1A at around $350 cheaper than my local gun store could get it for

Re: Media Reports Gun Sales Through the Roof? Where?
I've stopped buying and going to gun shows because I can't find any deals there. Everything seems to be priced high and the entry fee is enough to buy a box of ammo or a pmag by itself. Just not worth it.

A lot of people also have less cash to throw around than they did 4 years ago.

Like computer shows of a pre-internet age. The internet also killed the gun show.
