The Walnut Creek Rifle Club is an indoor/outdoor range, located at 6574 West Ridge Road in Erie, PA at the bottom of Walnut Creek Hill. (technically Route 20 in Fairview, PA)
The club is private, and is open to members from 7AM until Dark seven days a week. Persons under the age of 18 must be with an adult member.
There are various outdoor ranges for Rifles and Pistols. The 200 Yard range is only open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7AM - 9AM, at which times all the other outdoor ranges are closed.
Shotguns with slugs, birdshot or buckshot have a special 25 yard range with a chicken wire target area, which is located at the extreme right of the outdoor pistol ranges.
Proper Targets for shooting on the WCRC range include paper and cardboard targets. Plastic bottles and tin cans may be used on the outdoor pistol and rifle ranges, provided members remove all litter from the plastic bottles when they are finished with their shooting. At no time should any type of battery be used for targets. Metal commercial or home-made spinner targets are allowed only on the rifle ranges.
The Indoor Ranges at WCRC will handle .22 rimfire up to .45 caliber handgun loads. No full power magnum loads can be used. Reduced velocity loads up to 1200FPS can be used.
Some form of eye and hearing protection should be worn when using any of the ranges at WCRC.
No fully automatic firearms are permitted.
The WCRC in cooperation with the PA Game Commission presents three Hunter Safety courses annually in the clubhouse on the WCRC grounds.
Membership applications for the WCRC are available at the clubhouse, and new members must usually be sponsored by an existing member. Yearly dues range from $25 to $30 depending on age.
Most members meet on Tuesday nights from 6PM-8:30PM for group target practice outdoors with 'shooting gallery' style NRA metal silhouette chickens, pigs and rams, which are pictured below. If there's extremely bad weather, the groups may move to the indoor ranges for paper target shooting.
Member meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7PM sharp in the club house.
Range maintainence work-parties are the first Saturday of each month starting at 8AM.
New members who wish to join need to simply attend a Member meeting, where an application will be provided.

I recently converted these videos from 8mm to YouTube .. The club in 1959
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
The third segment has some cool old video of Camp Perry's National Matches.
You can see more historic WCRC 8mm Videos on the Walnut Creek Rifle Club YouTube Channel
