They look very tempting since all the work is already done and they take the same muzzle attachments as an S12. But they don't say if the mags are the same.

Saiga mags do not work. SGM is making some 10 and 12 rounders; they should be out next week according to Atlantic.

i'm not trying to come off like d but this is from there web page.

5 Round 12 Gauge shotgun mags for Russian Semi Auto shotguns with a Magazine Magwell

This shotgun Magazine is designed for Semi auto shotguns with Magwells like the the VEPR 12 and IZ-433

Does not work with Normal Saiga Shotguns !!!

Fair enough. I was just trying to point out that standard Saiga 12 mags/drums won't work with the VEPR 12. If they have a magwell, perhaps they will. Izzy mags work in the VEPR 12s as well.

I'm confused. It's over $1,000?! I have a Remington 7+1 recoil operated 12 gauge that I found for $225. It eats bulk ammo and rifled slugs all day. Am I missing something that justifies a $800 difference?

Detachable magazines? I would assume thats pretty obvious. Also the reliability and look of the AK platform. Does your old remy accept 20 round drum mags? nope, didnt think so.

^Does the vepr 12 do that either? No. They don't make 20 round mags. Its commonly know that recoil operated 12 gauges are more reliable than gas guns. That's a fact.

You're willing to spend $800 more for 2 additional rounds? Illogical sir.

I'd rather have two wasrs AND a semi 12 shotty for the sake of practicality.
