Well, I finally found it. An Exo Glock 19 at a local shop. Got mildly screwed in the ass with the trade plus cash, but hey, you only live once. It was shiny and perfect, just like Gaston said it would be. The "do it all" Glock is finally home and will replace not one, but two other guns, freeing up capital for *ahem* more guns.

I didn't clean it. It's a Glock. I shouldn't have to clean it, right? Or lube it? Right? O' bother. Call up my buddy to take him shooting for his/the first time and show him my new toy. First mag, about 2/3 through, slide locks back. OK, should have lubed it; it's new buddy, shit happens. The rest of the mag goes through no problem. The rest of the trip is marred with the slide locking back on mags with anywhere from 3 to 9 rounds in it. Federal bulk pack 115gr. It's cheap plunkers stuff, yes? It runs all the other Glocks, and M&P's, and the 1911. O' bother.

Break out the "full power" nine stuff (no laughing .45 snobs), 147 grains of HP goodness. Still continues to hiccup. Tap, rack, bang clears it. Slide release clears it. Barfs on Gen3 17 mags, Gen4 17 mags, Gen4 19 mags (they came with it) with all remaining ammo. Can't seem to identify one, or several, bad mags. Took it out a few days later. Flawless with all ammo. Lots of ammo. I'm smiling.

Took it out today. WWB 115 gr. bulk. Puked five times with all above mags but runs great with the 147 gr stuff. Gaston promised more. I fume......



So what to do? Well, first, bitch on the internet (like any good gun owner). Second? Contact Glock? Too easy......

Third, decide to abuse gun. This is a good plan!(?) No cleaning. No lubing. No love. STOP IT! You are anal retentive about your guns, good OL' FLICK. F*ck you Gaston, your shiny love bug is now my bitch.......

Place keeper. Will keep updates on round counts and malfunctions (not really for you guys, more for my amusement). I'm not keeping track of the above described rounds as I will only start to cry.....

Sounds like user error or a faulty slide lock. I've seen a number of people new to a glock lock the slide back because of their thumb posistion. Check the slide lock for free movement (excessive free movement, inasmuch as prematurely worn out ) or any faults.

On another note, not new to Glocks. Perhaps new to midsize Glocks? Sort of, never had this problem with my dearly departed G23. Will check on slide lock. Thanks.

Please note (to all, not to you, Jules), that this post is a tongue-in-cheek way for me to track round count and malfunctions, not to shit all over Glock's rep. I have 2 other Glocks that I enjoy very much with (the one) very high round counts with Z-E-R-O problems......

It's a good possibility especially if you are transistioning down from a full size ( I gather your other Glock is a 17?). My buddy had the same issues going from my 21 to his 23 on the 1st day. Really pay attention next time you take her out, 90% chance your failures will stop.

Yessir, G17, G17L and I traded in a G35 on this 19. Have had G23 in the past. Traded that on the 17L.
