Thumbs down $49.70 For a Tranfer!

Met forum member rmonceaux at The Gun Traders Rt61 Reading for a handgun transfer an was told it would be $49.70! I looked at Randy & he looked at me and we started to leave. But we sucked it up because of the travel & time. Needless to say I've NEVER had to pay that much for a single transfer and i've done alot! Most charge 10-25. Charging that much is telling me they don't want your business. Well I don't think they'll get any more from rmonceaux and myself!

I think gander mt is higher. Last time I was at cabelas it was $27, you just have to wait 3 hrs.

I have personally gone through John @ FirearmTransfers.net for all of my recent purchases and have been very satisfied.

Not much help for the OP on the other side of the state though.

Wouldn't it have been smart to have called ahead to check the rates if you had never been to that shop before?

$20-$25 is what I've ever paid. They had you by the balls and they knew it.

+1 Literally one of the nicest guys I've ever encountered due to firearms.

Can you blame them? With the way online stores price their firearms, they have to make money on something.

You can bet if you buy online and have it shipped to their store, they'll upcharge the shit out of that transfer since they made no money from that sale.

Stores don't make a lot from their firearm sales.
