Some one at walmart told me it was goning to take a steep increase, and was wondering if its policitcal rumor during election year as many seem to be.

Re: Ammunition tax increase?
Might be thinking about a proposed ammo tax in Cook County, Illinois (Chicago).

If we do not replace the fool we have now, you can bet on price increases for many things including ammo.

Re: Ammunition tax increase?
How much is a small fortune right now? I just want to compare to what I spent on ammo. Don't know if I should feel OK or insecure.

Re: Ammunition tax increase?
The 10 percent federal excise tax on ammo and guns has been around for as long as I can remember in my 45 plus years shooting. I have not heard any proposals for that tax increase which would not be a good idea around election time.
There is always talk regarding using the 10 percent tax in other areas other than the intended use of the money. Kind of like the diversion of gasoline tax into the general fund instead of exclusive use for highway improvements. This scam was pulled off in Pa. 40 years ago by then governor shapp.

Re: Ammunition tax increase?
Only round 2 bills between wally world and dunhams. I felt it was a small fortune for what I recieved...as it has been a while since I purchased ammo.
Don't confuse this purchase with your state of security and my ongoing ammunition dump that has steadily been increased since 1996, although not as frequently in the past 6 years.
