    Question Suppressors

What is involved in buying a suppressor?
I understand there is paperwork and a tax stamp.

Is it as much of a pain in the a@@ as getting a FA an is it as time consuming?

I searched previous threads and didnt find anything and searched on atf.gov and found mostly stuff about people busted with illegal suppressors
The only easy day was yesterday
Does anyone know the number for 9-1-1?

With the removal of the black plauge in DC and move to WV, the transfer of title2 class3 firearms, sbs, ect has been improved 10 fold. average time is 3 to 6 weeks. you still need prints, sign off and photo, or you can create a trust and by-pass the last 3.

Sorry, NFA items require you to be 21. But there is no special requirement, normally if you can buy a gun you can get a suppressor.

My solution to my ignorance about Class 3 purchases/transfers/building was to find a good dealer and pick his brains. It worked but...it got expensive. I now have 2 soon to have three. A H&K USP.45CT suppressed and a Walther P22 suppressed.

Headhunter - If you find one, let me know. I had no luck. You must have an extened barrel that's threaded. I looked for a replacement barrel with and without threads and found none, in either .357Sig or .40S&W. I have both for my 229, usually have the .357Sig in as I have a Kahr MK40 in .40S&W.

I believe that EFK Firedragon had the extended and threaded barrels. I supposedly just won an auction for a P229 Threaded barrel on GunBroker but still waiting to hear back from the seller. Any further news and I will PM you.
