Para GI Expert 1911
Bought my wife a new Para GI Expert a few months back, gun has been nothing but problems since day 1, fails to eject, fails to reload. Sent it back to Para, took 4 weeks, came back with the same problems. Sent it out again, 4 weeks, came back, same problems. Sick of paying for shipping, polished the feed ramp by hand and bought some new mags, no more problems except the slide fails to lock after the final round goes off. Any ideas or suggestions? I do NOT want to deal with Para anymore.

What kind of ammo are you running through it? I heard about Para QC issues and decided to stay away...

Will it lock back on an empty mag when you rack her by hand?

Re: Para GI Expert 1911
The mag follower rides up against the slide stop when rounds are not present.
So.....it could be a weak mag spring. Or a tight slide stop. Or the slide does not travel far enough rearward to engage the stop....which could be too much slide to frame friction or light loads or too heavy a recoil spring (you aren't running an 18lb spring....are you?). A shock buff will not allow them to lock back sometimes as well.

Oh...and mag feed lips being too tight can do this too as the follower never gets high enough to engage the stop. This situation is poor for feeding as well.

Re: Para GI Expert 1911
Make sure you are using a 16lb spring, Gun factories are known to use incorrect springs during assembly, they dont color code their springs like SIG does.
Also have someone else shoot it just to Rule out limp wristing.
I have 2 Paras a TAC-S LDA and a LTC and they are both flawless from day one, no matter what i feed them.
Report back and let us know what happened.

If it won't lock back by hand, he can rule out the wrist.
