    Default Shooting and Hostage Situation in Pittsburgh

    Breaking News from WTAE...

    There was just a report of a shooting at Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh. It has supposedly turned into a hostage situation, and a gunman may have a bomb as well. SWAT on scene.

    Gunman is barricaded on the 16th floor of 3 Gateway Center with hostages.

    I have not heard there was a shooting yet. Only that the guy has a firearm and bomb in Gateway Center. Neither NPR or the Post Gazette reported shots fired.

    I think WTAE may have jumped the gun on reporting that shots were heard. They have not discussed it since they reported it originally.

    WTAE just asked Police Chief Nate Harper about shots fired... he said NO shots fired at this time.

    Also, I heard he had two bags and one hand gun. They were guessing what was in the bags: Ammo, more firearms or a bomb.

    Nothing confirmed but I am not currently following it.

    Some people are actually posting comments to his facebook page, and the suspect is replying... the chief of police is monitoring it as well, and said he may investigate those replying to him if they are in any way encouraging the suspect.
