Welcome to the PAFOA, please spend a lot of time here, there is much to learn. Check your county web site for the sheriffs dept. When you get to the Sheriffs dept look for an application form for a LTCF ( license to carry a firearm ) print out the form and fill it out and take it to the sheriffs office to apply. It can take up to 5-6 weeks to receive your license, please do this now. Even if you don't plan on carrying have the license will make it easier to transport without breaking the law. Be safe and be a sponge soak up all the knowledge you can.

It can possibly take 45 days. In Luzerne county you can plan 15-20 minutes out of your day, and take it home with you if you pass.

    WB~
To save you some time, here's the gun permit form downloaded from the Sheriff's website in .pdf format. I tried to post the link on the web, but there's no selection there for form downloads - must be a site rework in progress. Anyway, here 'tiz:

I wouldn't recommend that fool in hunlocks creek. I met him on friday and went into his website, lots of misinformation. Seems he knows nothing about the castle doctrine. There is a range my wife and I belong to in nanticok, it has outdoor and indoor pistol. If you would like you can go as a members guest. This would be the best way to find out what handgun is best for you. I have many revolvers and pistols in different calibers. All the gun shops that were recommended are excellent, but your best bet is to shoot different ones. But that is my opinion.
