.32 acp for carry?

I carry a Beretta Tomcat when I'm not carrying - either on the hip or ankle.

My advice:
Don't carry HPs in 32ACP. You're dealing with limited power to begin with. If you dump energy into expanding the bullet, you may not get enough penetration to get the bullet where it needs to go. A small, deep hole is better than a wide, shallow one.

I carry Fiocchi 73gr FMJ. I think these are the hottest 32ACP rounds you're going to find.

A lot of European Police forces used .32 ACP for a long time. It will kill.

I personally carry my Colt 1903 in .32 frequently and don't feel outgunned with it.

I carry a kel-tec P32 when my attire requires. This is usually limited to being in a tux or playing golf.

While doing this, I carry Fiocchi FMJ. I don't like the odds of a .32 ACP hollowpoint versus winter clothing.

With that said, this is the "better than the .45 or 9mm on the nightstand" category.

I have carried the .32 auto for sometime now due to my tired old hands can't take a beating anymore, I use my Tomcat or my Hungarian PPK clone and i am quite content with them both, they will do the job if you do yours. Stay Safe.

I saw a video online where a guy fired a Kel-Tec .32 loaded with Buffalo Bore FN ammo.....it went thru 16, yes 16 layers of denim and penetrated 15 inches into balistic gel.

My own non-expert philosophy on pistol rounds is that pistol rounds in general lack real 'stopping power'. If 'stopping the action' is the top of the list in importance, than the tool should be a 12 gauge with 00 buckshot or slugs, a 30-06 rifle or .308 rifle.

We can't go around with long arms every second of the day, so we have to compromise with carrying a handgun. Further, most of us have to compromise with carrying a handgun small and light enough for comfortable concealed carry.

.32 acp, .380 acp, .38 spl., 9mm, .40 s&w, .45 acp, or .22 lr, they all serve a purpose in the role of handgun rounds that can be carried and used if needed to save a life.

Choose a gun that goes bang every time, train with it well, and don't worry too too much about caliber. (this philosophy changes if we're talking about 4 legged predators that might want to make us dinner--then, the philosophy must change)
