Brenneke Black Magic Magnum
Just got my latest delivery of things I dont really need and had a couple boxes of these in the shipment. i am pumped to try these out in my 18" barrel 870 and possibly carry it while hiking out west.
i am a 30.06 guy but is it ludicrous to hunt with these out of a smooth bore? when i finally get to the range i will let you guys know about the groupings.Montani Semper Liberi

Re: Brenneke Black Magic Magnum
How far do you plan on shooting?
Watermelons at 25 yards.
That was a KO, significantly less slug than the Black Magic.

Re: Brenneke Black Magic Magnum
a buddy swears 2" groups at 75 yards and i have read of similar results at 100. it seems like a stretch to me but i have never used a slug like this...or at least not one that performs as this one is supposed to.
600gr 955fps@100 yard (1502@muzzle) and only down 1.5 inches.Montani Semper Liberi

Re: Brenneke Black Magic Magnum
I'm no expert on these things, but I'd wager those 3'' slugs are going to feel like being tackled by an NFL lineman...for the one shooting it.
The remingtons have the steel recievers, so the extra weight would help. I loathe the recoil it would produce in my 6 pound Maverick 88.
Very cool stuff though; any ammo box that has a picture of an angry brown bear has to be some fun stuff.
Let us know how these cool slugs do.
