It doesn't sound like it's as high end as you are looking for, but I have a Springfield Trophy Match that you're welcome to shoot. I shoot at Classic Pistol, which is not far from Philly.

Rent, I'm not sure. But I know where you can shoot one for free. My guns, my club, just bring your own ammo.
They're handbuilt LW Commanders. Bring decent (not Wolf or S&B) .45s, 9mms, .38 Supers, or even 9x23 Winchester and you can shoot them to your heart's content.West Shore Sportsmen's Association WSSA Home page

Re: Where can I rent a high end 1911
There's not many ranges if any in SE PA that are going to have a Wilson or NHC for rent, the highest ranking 1911 you'll see in a rental case is probably going to be a Kimber. 1911s that cost 2K & 3K don't go in the rental case.
Check out French Creek Outfitters. They usually have a couple of Kimbers and some Springfields in the rental case, including one totally awesome Springfield long slide.
Your best bet is linking up with the guys above and giving them a try.Last edited by jdlv4_0; March 4th, 2008 at 10:42 AM.

They had the Springfield TRP Operator and a few others to try out last time they had "Springfield Day" at SPAG.

Freedom Armory (south of York, PA) had Nighthawk Customs for rent last time I was there.

Re: Where can I rent a high end 1911
Freedom Armory probably does. I think I saw a Wilson in the rental case, too. But I'm about a half hour closer to him up that same highway, I-83. He can test out either of my 1911's at no cost at my range. One was a stock Colt customized by Jim Garthwaite; the other entirely handbuilt and handfitted by me under Jim's direction in a week long "built your own" class. Jim did the pretty work, but the student fits all the parts.
Frankly, I've seen the Wilson's and the Nighthawks up close. They're still production guns. A high-end production gun, but its still a gun picked out of a catalog. They don't compare to a complete custom build.
