.920 barrel on 10/22 ???
Want to turn a Ruger 10 22 that I have into a gun my daughter will like. I'm looking at putting this on a 10 22 that I currently have.
What does it mean by the .920 barrel? Is this the stock barrel that is currently on the rifle or will I have to get a different barrel for this rifle too.
Here is the stock I want to put on the rifle for her.

Re: .920 barrel on 10/22 ???
Also found this one, and it says for Standard barrel. I'm assuming that this would be the one I would want.

Is the .921 barrel worth the upgrade, if that is even what it is?The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Re: .920 barrel on 10/22 ???
.920 being that the stock inlet is for a .920" diameter barrel. So the stock is already inletted and for a large heavy barrel. If you have a heavy/target/bull barrel style, then you would need to get this one. If it's not, then the channel would just completely swallow up a standard barrel, and make it look odd.

Re: .920 barrel on 10/22 ???
All of the popular after-market target barrels for 10/22 are .920 in diameter.
If replacing a standard barrel you will have to either buy a new stock (to fit the .920 barrel) or sand the existing barrel channel (labor intensive!)
These stocks for .920 barrels are well-loved

and available in pink (this is the same one you linked to , yes?)

Re: .920 barrel on 10/22 ???
Boyds has a lot of nice offerings for those. I would, however, bed it and float the barrel if you get a new .920 bull barrel.
The heavy barrels sit steady off of a rest as well as off-hand......as long as she is big enough to heft it.
But.....I propose this: Why not just duracoat it a nice pink or pink camo and then add a better 10/22 trigger?

Ordered her this stock a while ago after doing a lot of shopping. She will love this big time.

If I was going to get a better trigger Lycan, what would you suggest? And what are the benefits of doing this? The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Re: .920 barrel on 10/22 ???
I installed a couple Volquartsen triggers and I liked them a lot. Lighter pulls (without being touchy) and crisp breaks. Made shooting a lot easier. Good glass or a nice dot helps a lot too. Almost anything that makes shooting a centerfire rifle easier applies to the 10/22.
You should go over to rimfirecentral.com and look at the 10/22 threads and tips and tricks. Awesome info there.
